  • Project Description
National Pressed Metal (the contracting arm of Australian Pressed Metal) & Perth Pressed Metal worked closely with Heritage Achitects & builder Multiplex on the restoration & redevelopment of the heritage listed buildings in the Perth Cultural Centre, part of a state heritage precinct with buildings dating back to the 1890's Gold Rush. Restoration of this heritage ceiling was required with some of the original panels removed in order to upgrade services and comply to code and then reinstated where possible. New die manufacture was required from a sample of the original pressed metal panel as the design was no longer in existence. A sample panel was used to reproduce the design to the exact impeial measurements and the new design Star Chain was produced. Work included removal of damaged and rusted panels and replacement with the newly produced panels to marry up exactly and seamlessly to the original existing panels restoring this ceiling to its original charm.
