Project DescriptionThe Regal Theatre on Kensington Road, Kensington Park in the Eastern Suburbs is a 1925 era Art Deco style building operating as a single screen cinema. Through years of neglect and truck damage due to the veandah being close to the road the awning and fascia were in disrepair. Adelaide Pressed Metal worked in conjunction with builder Mykra to repair the damage to the original awning and fascia. The scope of works included checking the substructure & framing timbers, stripping the fascia and repair and replace like for like to keep the original 1925 heritage fabric of the building. A new die was required for the metal fascia panel and bespoke roof flashings and barge cap were folded to original specifications.15% of the timber framing was replaced40% new pressed metal fascia panel replaced40% metal fascia repaired20% untouchedRoofing & painting by others
